What to include on a social media manager invoice
List posts per platform
Break the package down by platform and post type so the client sees exactly what was delivered this month.
Separate ad budgets
Boosted posts and paid campaigns should appear as pass-through costs, distinct from your management work.
Bill community management
Replying to comments and messages takes time every day. Include it as hours or a fixed monthly line.
Note approval deadlines
A short note about when the client must approve content explains any missed posts that were waiting on them.

Payment terms for social media manager invoices
Our suggestion: Monthly in advance, due on the 1st, with a 3-month minimum commitment.
Sample terms you can paste into the invoice: “Monthly packages are billed in advance. Unused posts do not roll over. Content approval is needed 48 hours before scheduled posting; delays may shift the calendar.”

Social Media Manager invoice FAQ
How much do social media managers charge per month?
Freelance rates vary widely, from a few hundred dollars for a single platform with light posting to several thousand for multi-platform management with video and ads. Experience, niche and deliverables drive the price.
Should ad spend be on my social media invoice?
If you pay for ads on the client's behalf, list the spend as a separate pass-through line and keep receipts. Many managers prefer that clients add their own card to the ad account to avoid fronting costs.
Do unused posts roll over to next month?
That is your policy to set. Many managers do not allow rollover because time was reserved, while some allow it once. State your rule clearly in the invoice terms.
