How to create an invoice with the free generator
- 1
Enter your business and client details
Add your name or company, contact details and the client you are billing. Include tax IDs if you charge sales tax or VAT.
- 2
Set the invoice number and dates
Use a unique number and choose a due date. Shorter terms like Net 7 or Net 14 usually get you paid sooner than Net 30.
- 3
Add line items
List each service or product with a quantity and price. Be specific: "Kitchen faucet replacement (labor, 2 hrs)" beats "Plumbing work".
- 4
Apply tax, discount or shipping
Totals update automatically. Choose the currency your client expects to pay in.
- 5
Choose a template and download
Pick a design and accent color, then download the PDF and send it to your client.
