Early start fees for calls before 6 a.m., travel beyond your included radius and touch-up time on-site all deserve their own lines. Makeup Artist invoice FAQ

How much deposit should a makeup artist charge?

Many bridal artists ask for a non-refundable retainer, often 25-50% of the total, to hold the date. Whatever you choose, put it in a signed contract and reflect it on the invoice.

Should a makeup artist charge for no-shows?

Yes, if your contract says so. Artists commonly charge the full rate for a booked face that does not show, since that time could not be rebooked on the day.

How do I invoice a photo shoot as a makeup artist?

Bill by half-day or full-day rate, plus kit fees, travel and overtime past the scheduled call time. Include the production name or PO number if the client is an agency.
